Defining features
Shen Shi Xuan Kong Xue associates Seven Red with Po Jun, metal and Dui; west is its basic direction. Distribution changes its palace, and tradition distinguishes timely from untimely phases. Red is a symbolic name, not a red wall, fire-safety sign, reflected sunlight or a special threat in building materials.
How to recognize it
Record the source, applicable time and year/month boundaries of the annual, monthly or residential chart. With One White central, the sequence is center 1, Qian 2, Dui 3, Gen 4, Li 5, Kan 6, Kun 7: Seven Red is southwest. A plan needs a center and north reference. This example must not become a screenshot presented as a permanent security map.
Common confusions
Po Jun in this chart is not interchangeable with every identically named star in other systems. “Thief star” does not identify a neighbor, visitor or family member as a thief. Faulty locks, poor lighting and careless key management are inspectable issues; being in a particular palace does not prove a Seven Red effect.
Folklore and sources
The correspondences are in Shen Shi Xuan Kong Xue, volume 4; time-based distribution is in Xieji Bianfang Shu, volume 8. Theft and dispute associations are symbolic interpretations, not proof of specific criminal causation. Selecting only theft cases that match a number while ignoring uneventful cases cannot establish a reliable pattern.
Traditional responses and practical improvements
Water-drains-metal symbolism or water-colored objects appear in popular remedies. This does not require standing water or a difficult water feature near an entrance. Inspect door and window closure, locks, common-area lighting and access management; use lawful protection where needed. If theft occurs, preserve evidence and contact the appropriate authorities rather than blaming a directional label.

These sources help clarify the concepts and their origins. Explaining a traditional term does not establish that it can predict outcomes.
